This summer, INFOhio made updates and enhancements to increase the ease of navigation and look of INFOhio's website. One of these changes was increased access to both Fetch and ISearch. Easier access to Fetch and ISearch is important for students, teachers, and families to be able to find library materials and additional materials licensed by INFOhio. 

Recordings are now available for these sessions.

This summer INFOhio will be hosting a one-day conference, Instructional Materials Matter: Voices from the Field, on August 9, 2022. Sessions include a Keynote from the Ohio Department of Education and additional sessions from Exchange Certified Trainers on integrating quality INFOhio resources, web tools, and professional development into the various educational environments. 

GenYES Ohio is a program that prepares Ohio students to become student technology leaders through a rigorous, technology-infused leadership curriculum. This curriculum has now been added to Open Space. 

Career-focused lessons and activities from the Ohio Department of Education Office of Graduate Success have been added to Open Space. 

Check out more than 250 new social studies lesson plans, interactive games, and learning modules from iCivics.org that have been added to Open Space.

The Computer Science Fundamentals curriculum from Code.org, which includes 97 lesson plans for grades K-5, has been added to Open Space. 

Learn more about Ohio with 28 lesson plans for grades 6-12 from Ohio History Connection. 

INFOhio has a new online, self-paced class added to the K-5 Digital Content Learning Pathway. Take The World Almanac for Kids Elementary class to learn more about this research database for students in grades K-5 that includes topics such as science, social studies, math, the arts, biographies, and more. After successfully completing the final quiz, earn a certificate for two contact hours.

More than 70 new instructional materials from Common Sense Education have been added to Open Space and include lesson plans on being responsible digital citizens for K-12.

To support students in learning essential digital skills, 192 lessons from Google’s Applied Digital Skills curriculum using Google Workplace were added to Open Space.

Instructional materials matter and looking closely at the materials you use in your classrooms is important. Every Ohio student deserves the opportunity to learn from high-quality, standards-aligned instructional materials to become a resilient, lifelong learner who contributes to society.

EBSCO has added new tools for reading digital text to their resources including text-to-speech, enlarge text, page mask, and more. 

Text sets are an excellent way to promote equity and provide high-quality instructional materials for all students.
