During the 2023–2024 school year, Ohio educators can access Learning Blade®, a resource focused on STEM/CS/CTE and career awareness, at no cost. Access to the Learning Blade platform is provided through the Ohio STEM Learning Network. Ohio educators can find Learning Blade using INFOhio's Open Space, Educator Tools, and the Create, Lead, Empower Ohio toolkit.

What is Learning Blade? 

Learning Blade is a system of interactive online lessons, teacher lesson plans, and printable activities for middle schools, where students learn about high-demand STEM, CTE, and Computer Science careers while reviewing academics. The platform contains a supplemental curriculum for grades 5–9 with more than 400 engaging and interactive lessons connecting STEM learning with science, math, English, and social studies.

Learning Blade organizes resources around missions. Each mission offers educators lesson plans, teacher guides, and take-home activities to extend learning beyond the classroom. During each mission, students build critical thinking, problem-solving, and design thinking skills by engaging with interactives and completing hands-on activities. Mission topics reflect real-world challenges in the areas of manufacturing, energy, and information technology. The missions in Learning Blade help students connect STEM learning to a wide range of in-demand careers. 

Learning Blade on INFOhio

INFOhio is pleased to connect Ohio educators to Learning Blade. Educators can find more information and links to Learning Blade within Open Space, Educator Tools, and Create, Lead, Empower Ohio.

• Open Space: Educators can find Learning Blade in Open Space, a curriculum curation and collaboration tool powered by INFOhio. From the Open Space homepage, search Learning Blade. From there, Ohio educators can request no-cost access to the Learning Blade platform. 
• Educator Tools: Educators can find Learning Blade within INFOhio's Educator Tools. Educator Tools is a repository of instructional materials and digital content to support learning and instruction. Educators can perform a keyword search to find Learning Blade. From the Learning Blade information page, educators can explore the Training and Support materials and sign up for a free account with access to the platform, lessons, and activities. 
• Create, Lead, Empower Ohio (CLEO):  Educators can find Learning Blade in CLEO, a toolkit designed to connect Ohio educators to resources to support STEM, Career Exploration, and personalized learning. From the CLEO homepage, select Technology. Use the limiter for Content Type and select Learning Module. Educators can get an overview of Learning Blade using the summary, category icons, and suggested grade levels. To sign up for access to Learning Blade, select the Open button. 

How to Access Learning Blade

Ohio educators can use the Learning Blade Ohio Account Request form to request a license to Learning Blade, provided by the Ohio STEM Learning Network for the 2023-2024 school year.
