INFOhio's Professional Learning Book Studies Learning Pathway helps develop educator growth. Explore professional learning eBooks from INFOhio with a group of educators or individually. Each class features a professional learning title in a book study format with a supporting facilitator guide.

A New Class Added to the Professional Learning Book Studies Learning Pathway: Developing Digital Detectives

This class features the professional learning eBook, Developing Digital Detectives: Essential Lessons for Discerning Fact from Fiction in the Fake News Era by Jennifer LaGarde and Darren Hudgins. Use this class as a guide for a book study that includes featured discussion questions, INFOhio resources, and instructional materials to support integration in the classroom. Participants can earn a contact hour certificate for 4 hours after completing the lessons and a final quiz.

This book guides educators to help learners become "digital detectives"—information interrogators who use tools to dissect news stories and determine what's real in a "post-truth world." It also unpacks the connection between social-emotional learning and information literacy.

The other class in this pathway features the professional learning eBook, Building Blocks for Tiny Techies: A Teacher's Guide to Digital Learning in Primary Classrooms by Jamila "Mia" Leonard. Participants can earn a contact hour certificate for 3 hours after completing the lessons and a final quiz.
