Big Ideas and SEL Spotlight, Chapter 8 Recap

  • The chapter contains four elementary-level lessons. They can be reworked for other grades.

  • Each lesson has a Big Ideas box. This lets educators know the lenses: Triggers, Access, Forensics, or Motives. 
  • The SEL Spotlight gives insight on the CASEL areas of social and emotional learning: social awareness, self-awareness, self-management, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. 
  • The four lessons are:
    • The Case of...The Bodacious Blue Strawberries!
    • The Case of...The Greatest Pig of All Time?
    • The Case of...Chew on This!
    • The Case of...The 450lb Dog!

Review the lessons in the chapter. Next, check out the Evidence Locker where you will find the Digital Detective's Notebook and the Digital Detective's Toolbox. Note the lessons in the book refer to specific resources in the Evidence locker.

Explore these before using the lessons.
