Big Ideas and SEL Spotlight, Chapter 9 Recap
  • The chapter features four lessons for middle school students. They can be reworked for other grades.
  • Each lesson has a Big Ideas box. This lets educators know the lenses used: Triggers, Access, Forensics, or Motives.
  • The SEL Spotlight gives insight on the CASEL areas of social and emotional learning used: social awareness, self-awareness, self-management, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. 
  • The four lessons are:
    • The Case of...The 911 Toilet Paper Emergency!
    • The Case of...Game! Set! Match! The Volleyball Playing Dog That Broke the Internet!
    • The Case of...The Superhuman Soldiers!
    • The Case of...The Reporter Who Risked Her Life for the News!
