Elizabeth Rush
Librarian, Nichols Elementary School, San Antonio, TX

Elizabeth Rush recently published an article titled, “Genius Hour: Tips and Tactics” in Teacher Librarian Magazine, December, 2015 issue. She is an 18 year librarian: Currently teaching at Nichols Elementary, at Northside ISD in San Antonio,Texas, formerly at the San Antonio Public Library, and a Parochial K-8 school. She has her Masters of Science in Information Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, and  a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. In addition to keeping up with technology, collaborating with school and public librarians,  and thinking up new ways of keeping librarianship fresh, she spends her time researching and pursuing her passions of travel, outdoor activities, and learning new things every year. Finding as much wonder out in the backyard as out in the world, this approach to life enables her to identify with her students, encourage their curiosity, and rally them to love learning!
