Applying What You Have Learned

Learning Objectives
  • Understand the importance of using digital text, print, and other media in early learning curriculum.
  • Find World Book Early Learning on the INFOhio website: www.infohio.org.
  • Use the navigational tools to search and browse to find the best content for students and instruction.
  • Find the instructional supports available in the resource.
  • Identify best practices for using World Book Early Learning in the classroom.

Exploring a Topic
  1. Think about an upcoming lesson or unit in which you are planning to teach a concept or practice a literacy skill.
  2. Go to www.infohio.org and find World Book Early Learning on the site using what you have learned.
  3. Use the scroll menu to explore or find a correlating eBook in Stories.
  4. Use the For Grownups to find the lesson plan and other instructional supports for the eBook title you have chosen.
  5. Choose the best activities, games, and videos to supplement your lesson based on your class and students' needs.
  6. If you are using an eBook from the Guided Reading collection, find the accompanying little printable book and download it to print. Use the directions to fold the book. Print enough for each student to take home and read with a parent or caregiver.
