Reflecting on Your Learning

Now that you have learned more about best practices for reading online text, answer the following questions.

  1. What part of the class and its activities was most helpful in your understanding of the topic? Why?
  2. What part of the class could be better? What would you do to improve it? Why?
  3. What was the most important thing you learned from this class? What makes it important to you? This question can be answered in the Reading on the Screen Open Space group Discussions. Find the What Did You Learn in the Reading on the Screen Class? question. Review the thread and reply to other participants' responses.

Extend the Learning

Now that you have completed the training, make sure the learning doesn't stop. Once you have taught the lesson you created using best practices and strategies for reading digital text, make sure to evaluate it. Consider these questions:

  1. What worked/didn't work? How will you replicate the success or correct the problem the next time you use the strategies and best practices?
  2. Which materials you learned about in the training will you use the most to integrate best practices and strategies for digital text into your teaching?
  3. What did you discover about your teaching or delivery style from using best practices and strategies in lessons?
  4. What are two pieces of advice you would give to a fellow teacher who wants to integrate best practices and strategies for reading digital text into the classroom?
