Chapter 7, Optimizing Social Media: Connect with Current Events

  • Using social media in the classroom extends learning beyond the four walls and school network and gives a broad and authentic audience. For example, instead of just reading about scientists, students can engage with real scientists or connect with authors via social media. 
  • Before using social media in the classroom consider sending a permission letter home to families, review online safety tips, and create a shared hashtag. 

   

Make sure to follow INFOhio using: Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Share what INFOhio digital tools are being used in the classroom and add the hashtag #INFOhioWorks to posts.

As you use INFOhio resources in the classroom, we encourage you to fill out this survey for a chance to be featured in biannual newsletters. We may contact you to share your ideas for using resources in the classroom.
