Meghan Federer
Director of STEM Education, Secondary Grades for The Works

Meghan recently joined The Works team in mid-August, 2015. Meghan was previously a part of The Ohio State University’s Center for Life Science Education and Department of Teaching and Learning where she taught introductory biology and worked with pre-service teachers in math and science. Originally an arachnologist and cave ecologist, she has her BS in Biology and Psychology from Alma College and her MS in Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology from The Ohio State University. Meghan’s love for teaching and her focus on understanding student learning began in graduate school where she shifted focus to explore how students construct meaning during their explanation of complex scientific concepts. During this time, she received her MS and PhD Teaching and Learning from The Ohio State University. Meghan enjoys spending time outdoors and inspiring a love and understanding of the natural world in her students. She is excited about the opportunity to connect with the youth of Licking County and inspire a love of STEM.
