Collect and use INFOhio use data for your school or district.
INFOhio retrieves monthly electronic resource use data from our content providers. The content provider determines the level of granularity of the data. INFOhio is able to retrieve and provide school- or district-level use data for the following content providers or sites:
INFOhio is unable to retrieve or provide school- or district-level use data for the following content providers:
In order to retrieve accurate use data for most resources, you or your ITC must provide accurate external IP addresses to INFOhio.
Use data files are to be accessed by Ohio PreK-12 educators and members of the INFOhio community only. You must be authenticated to the INFOhio website to access the files.
For information about the data collected and posted in the files, see the information below:
Data is available at the district level. Institutions are sorted by county. BookFlix Sessions: A session is defined as a logout, browser close, or five minutes of inactivity. BookFlix Documents Retrieved: Each page viewed is counted as a document. Each book, video, game, browse page, index page, curriculum correlation, educator resource, or link-out viewed is counted as a document retrieved. BookFlix Contents Viewed: Each page viewed, excluding links to curriculum and educator resources and external resources.
Data is available at the school level. "# Of Teacher Access Codes Requested," "# Of Teacher Accounts Activated," and "Number of Students Rostered" are ongoing categories--since the start of the school year. "Number of Student Log-ins (i.e. # Unique student users)" represents the number of unique students that logged into Storia during that month. INFOhio focuses on "# Pages Read" in determining overall use of Storia. Institutions are sorted by county.
Data is available at the instance/library level. INFOhio uses Google Analytics to gather pageviews for each instance of ISearch. You can now query the ISearch Use Data yourself from the ISearch Use Data Dashboard! The link to the dashboard is at the top of the file list. Look for all instance URLs associated with your district and their coordinating page views. Note: ISearch use data is available only for schools using INFOhio's Integrated Library System.
Google Analytics Pageviews: Total number of times a page that has the Google Analytics tracking code inserted has been viewed. Repeated views of a single page are counted. For ISearch, a pageview is generated each time a user lands on the homepage of your instance of ISearch or conducts a search in your instance of ISearch. Note that a pageview is not generated each time a user clicks the View/Download button in ISearch or clicks a different tab (My Library, Basic Sources, Advanced Sources, etc.) in ISearch. In other words, a pageview is roughly equivalent to the number of searches your users conduct in your instance of ISearch.
For July 2015-March 2016 BookFlix and Storia, see HistoricalData file.
Prior to June 2017, INFOhio used Google Analytics to gather the number of times users logged into the INFOhio website with their INFOhio username and password or visited the INFOhio website from an IP address associated with a specific school or district. Since July 2018, INFOhio has been using server login data. See notes within individual spreadsheets for differences in data collection methods since June 2017.
How can you tell how you are logged in? When you visit the INFOhio website, look at the upper left corner of the page. Your district or school name should be visible. If you are at school and do not see your district name when you visit the INFOhio website, contact the INFOhio Provider at your ITC.

In addition to these features and behaviors, the use of discovery layers (like ISearch) can affect database and OPAC use data:
Whenever possible, INFOhio uses COUNTER-compliant data. INFOhio's goal is not to boost usage data; our goal is to connect students, parents, and educators with the reliable information they need as quickly and as efficiently as possible.
