Olivia Hersman is a sixteen-year-old author, poet, and playwright from Ohio. She has explored a vast range of writing projects, especially since entering high school in 2013. In 2014, Olivia wrote and co-directed a two-act play about the Holocaust to raise money for the U.S Holocaust Memorial Museum. In 2015, she was awarded the Red Cross Youth Hero Award for her work to end genocide through her writing. In the summer of 2015, Olivia was chosen to attend the Reynolds Young Writers Workshop at Denison University, where she finalized her first novel, Empty Canvas. Empty Canvas was published in December 2015. Olivia looks forward to continuing to write for the rest of her life and is ready to pursue new and challenging creative writing ventures that will impact her readers.
