Reflecting on Your Learning

Now that you have learned more about what quality text is, why it is important, and how to use it to create text sets, answer the following questions.

  1. What part of the class and its activities were most helpful in your understanding of the topic? Explain why.
  2. What part of the class could be better? What would you do to improve? Explain why.
  3. What was the most important thing you learned from this class? What makes it important to you?

In the High-Quality Instructional Materials for Each Child Open Space group, share a link to your text set. Find the Discussion post Sample Text Sets. Remember to post it using a view-only link or a screenshot.

Extend the Learning

Now that you have completed this class, make sure the learning doesn't stop. As you incorporate quality text and text sets into your classroom, evaluate your teaching practice. Consider the following questions:

  1. What did you discover about your teaching style while exploring quality text and text sets?
  2. What have you found successful in implementing quality text and text sets in your classroom? What are some challenges with implementing these in the classroom?
  3. What are two pieces of advice you would give to a fellow teacher who wants to incorporate quality text and text sets into their classroom? How would you suggest they use INFOhio resources for developing text sets?
  4. Which INFOhio resources will you most use in developing text sets?
