Taking QR Codes to a New Level: World History Mesoamerica Book Cache and Other Cool Projects Webinar

Worthington Christian High School’s World History teacher, Dan Roads, and Media Center Director, David Stoll, dreamed big when they tried to answer the question, “How can we direct students back to print media in a world of smart phones and Wikipedia?” Join us to see how they tackled the challenge.

Learn about the unique and fun twist on a traditional scavenger hunt they created that used technology, artifacts, and books.  Using iPads or smart phones to scan QR (quick response) codes embedded in maps, groups of students found clues to the hidden Mosoamerican artifact boxes to answer questions.

In this webinar, teachers and library media specialists will learn how Dave and Dan collaborated on this project, the technology that was involved in creating this “Book Cache,” and how their next adventure is evolving. We will also explore other creative, collaborative projects connecting technology and books.
