Author // Emily Rozmus Tuesday, 30 July 2019

INFOhio is excited to partner with Scholastic, the ESC of Northeast Ohio, Stark County ESC, and Great Start for Great Futures Coalition to bring a full day of fee-free professional development to teachers, administrators, curriculum directors, school librarians, and other educational staff working with students in grades PreK-5.

Don’t miss Pam Allyn, Scholastic’s Vice President of Innovation and Development and the author of Every Child a Super Reader, as the opening keynote presenter. Participants will receive a copy of Ms. Allyn’s book, as well as a copy of a title included in one of Scholastic’s resources, BookFlix or Storia: Ohio’s 4th and 5th Grade eBook Collection, which are available to Ohio schools from INFOhio.

Participants will join fellow educators in a full-day of professional development and activities:

  • Exploring best practices for integrating digital text to enhance literacy using content from INFOhio.
  • Learning more about resources that support Ohio's Learning Standards including foundational reading, vocabulary, and comprehension.
  • Discovering how to use and integrate Scholastic's BookFlix into the PreK-3 classroom and Scholastic's Storia eBook collection for Ohio students in grades 4 and 5, both available at no cost to Ohio schools from INFOhio.
  • Leaving prepared to build literacy and engage students with ready-to-implement strategies and a knowledge of the quality digital text brought to you by INFOhio.
