ISearch Video Tutorials to Share with Students

Author // Sarah Mowery Tuesday, 01 December 2020

INFOhio’s ISearch, a discovery search interface, is a tool used by educators and students to search nearly all INFOhio’s resources in one search box to find reliable and current information for school research projects. Use the tabs to find materials from your school library, encyclopedias, newspapers, magazines and journal articles, primary source documents, videos, and eBooks at a variety of reading levels that support Ohio’s Learning Standards and rigorous academic research.

ISearch can be integrated into your classroom instruction and used in many ways for your curriculum needs. Use ISearch for:

  • Starting all types of research for students in grades 3-12.
  • Comparing the information from different types of sources.
  • Finding materials from your school library.
  • Finding articles from encyclopedias, magazines, scholarly journals, and newspapers at a variety of reading levels along with reports, primary sources, eBooks, and videos.
  • Finding peer-reviewed academic resources that are not freely available on the internet.

A trio of ISearch video tutorials have been published, with the student audience in mind, to help understand how to use this tool efficiently and effectively:

  • For a basic overview and how to navigate within ISearch view: ISearch: Getting Started.

  • To find out how to view content in different formats, how to save an article, and how to share this content to Google Classroom or other learning management systems view: ISearch: Viewing, Saving, & Sharing.

  • To learn how to use keywords for searching, learn about the limiter types and how to narrow your results view:  ISearch: Searching & Limiters

Share these videos and others like it from our Screencasts and Videos library to support students in face to face, remote, or blended learning environments.
