INFOhio Videos Support Equitable Access to High-Quality Resources

Author // Emily Rozmus Friday, 28 August 2020

INFOhio, Ohio's PreK-12 Digital Library, licenses high-quality digital resources and develops robust web tools available at no cost to Ohio's students, teachers, and parents. Our digital content transforms instruction and impacts learning, supporting both virtual and face-to-face classrooms. We are committed to ensuring every student in Ohio has access to premium content we provide, including eBooks, magazine and scholarly journal articles, videos, encyclopedias, and learning modules.

What is INFOhio? is a new video that provides an overview of INFOhio's content and services. It also highlights several resources and tools that can be used by families and teachers to support student learning including eBooks from BookFlix, interactive encyclopedia activities from World Book Kids, and inquiry and research project supports from GO! Ask Act Achieve. This video is perfect for first-time users of INFOhio and parents who are looking for support for children learning at home. Educators can share this video in emails home or during Parent's Nights.

Be sure to share a second video that provides step-by-step directions on how to log in to INFOhio. We license our resources and content and use a password to ensure only Ohio residents have access. INFOhio uses IP and geo-authentication as well as cookies to ensure Ohio students, parents, and teachers are logged in automatically, but if there are any difficulties, this video will help.

Three other videos provide helpful tips on how to share INFOhio's licensed digital content and resources for seamless access. Sharing the correct URL and web link is crucial in providing seamless access to our digital content or resources. These videos show educators the best links to use:

Sharing Links to Licensed Resources - This short video shows the correct links to use to share resources such as BookFlix, Points of View Reference Center, or World Book.

Sharing Permalinks from INFOhio's Digital Content and Databases - ISearch and EBSCO's databases use permalinks for seamless access to eBooks, articles, videos, and more. This video walks users through steps to find and use this feature.

Sharing Links in Educator Tools - Educator Tools is a curated collection of quality content from the web and INFOhio's digital content, including BookFlix titles. Watch this video to learn how to share this content.

Keep students learning no matter where they are this school year with INFOhio's digital content and web tools. Need help? Reach out to us at support.infohio.org.
