Does your school library automate with INFOhio's Library Services Platform? Learn about Fetch, INFOhio's online catalog for grades K-2 in this newly added professional development class in the School Library Basics Learning Pathway.
The class, worth two contact hours, instructs users on how to use Fetch, a simple web-based library catalog search for the youngest of users. Lessons cover features of the library catalog including a visual search, reading program search, and advanced search options.
The School Library Basics Learning Pathway is being developed to help school librarians learn the basics for managing an Ohio school library and is ideal for new Ohio school librarians or Ohio school library staff who have not completed a graduate program in library science. Choose to complete individual classes in this INFOhio Learning Pathway or complete the full School Library Basics Learning Pathway to earn up to six contact hours.
Currently the School Library Basics Learning Pathway includes the newly added Fetch class and two additional classes, Introduction to INFOhio and Advocacy: Sharing the Value of Your School Library. Participants in the Advocacy class will learn about the importance of promoting their school library and develop a plan to help them raise awareness of the services and support available.

Sarah Mowery is a Professional Instructional Specialist with INFOhio. She has worked in education for 16 years as a school librarian and technology coach in elementary and middle school settings. While in these roles, she's been an integral part of the building leadership teams working as a curriculum connector and integrating web-based tools. She earned a BA in Sociology from Bowling Green State University and an MLS with a specialization in PK-12 schools from East Carolina University. Sarah was one of the original INFOhio ICoaches when the program first began in 2013 and has a passion for sharing how INFOhio resources can transform teaching and impact learning for students and educators across the state of Ohio.
