Note: You must use the username: union_opac1 in order to use this method.

Downloading Extracted MARC records though a Web browser.

First read your e-mail message that you  received from union_opac1@infohio.org.  Write down the subject line. This will be the name of the file you will download from your Web browser.

  1. Start your Web browser.
  2. Go to File menu and select the Open (or Open page) option.
  3. Type in /downloads/union/ and click on OK (or Open).
  4. Then click on your file.  (Example: yourusername_at_yourdomain_16035184.txt) A MARC record will be displayed in machine-readable format.
  5. From the File menu, click on Save as...
  6. Select the location to which you want to save the MARC record.
  7. Rename the file to Microlif.001 or Microlif.002, etc. (This allows you to work with multiple files on the same disk.) If you are going to only use one file, use Microlif.001
  8. Click on Save.
