SirsiDynix Migration
FAQs - Equipment

I have an old barcode scanner. Will I have to buy any new equipment?

If your barcode scanner is connected to a Windows workstation, we anticipate the scanner will work with the SirsiDynix software and will not need to be replaced. However, barcode scanners that are currently connected to dumb terminals are typically not compatible with Windows workstations and will likely need to be replaced. Libraries should check compatibility with the scanner vendor, their ITC provider or consult the Barcode Scanners section on the Equipment Specifications page.

The Equipment Specifications page lists barcode scanners that have been tested with the SirsiDynix software. If your brand and model of scanner is not listed, please contact the INFOhio Support Staff at your regional ITC or e-mail support@infohio.org with the brand and model number of your scanner. Testing will be scheduled prior to migration to ensure there are no incompatibilities with the new software.

Frequently asked questions and answers regarding the migration to SirsiDynix WorkFlows have been compiled by the Migration Advisors Team.  If you don't find the information you are looking for here, please contact the INFOhio Support Staff at your regional ITC or e-mail support@infohio.org.
