Will the new software have the ability to add multiple copies of an item at one time?
When adding multiple items to a title in MultiLIS, the information isn't carried over from one item record to the next. While some information is defaulted by just pressing return through the fields,  you must manually re-enter other pieces of the item information.

In the Sirsi Unicorn product, you'll have more control over the information you would like to have defaulted. When adding item information, you'll be able to set "Default Properties." Default properties are used to indicate the default values for various item fields. You can choose to set just a few or many of the possible field defaults, depending on your needs. The default properties are easily updated whenever you need them to be changed for a different group of items.

As in MultiLIS, it is also possible to add multiple copies during batch loading of records. (Posted: November 16, 2002)

Frequently asked questions and answers regarding the transition to Unicorn have been compiled and placed here by the Transition Advisors Team  If you don't find the information you are looking for here, please contact the INFOhio Support Staff at your regional ITC or e-mail support@infohio.org
