Looking for a way to search more than one resource from INFOhio's Core Collection of Electronic Resources? INFOsearch is the answer! INFOhio will use the 2007-2008 school year to test this new way to locate high quality information that supports Ohio's Academic Content Standards and many other topics of interest to students, parents and educators. There is no cost to use INFOsearch; it is free to Ohio's K-12 community and uses the same home access username and password that works for individual searches.

Using INFOsearch
From the INFOhio home page, click on one of the grade level buttons.
Web reference tools for elementary school students and their parents.Web reference tools for junior high and middle school students and their parents.Web reference tools for high school students and their parents.
The INFOsearch search box is near the top of each grade level page and looks like this:

Follow the directions in the box to get a results list of articles that match your search request. The dropdown menu allows you to select from a list of resource categories. The resources, or targets, for each category have been selected by INFOhio.
Fifteen online reference tools for various subjects and grade levels, free to all Ohio K-12 students and their parents.
The Core Collection INFOsearch works differently. You use check boxes to select resource categories or specific resources from the Collection. The more resources you select from the complete list means more time to retrieve results may be needed.

INFOsearch delivers up to ten articles for each target you search, with the fastest displaying near the top of the list. But fastest doesn't always mean best. So, scroll down the list and look at each title. Click on the title or the View button to read the complete article. To see more articles after the first ten, use the Next Page arrow at the bottom of the list. To expand your list, click on the Get More Records link.

You can still search each Core Collection resource by itself, but INFOhio hopes you give INFOsearch a try. Let us know what you think by answering the brief questions at the end of your session.
