INFOhio Initiatives for 2010-2011

INFOhio focuses on students and instruction, with 21st century tools supporting 21st century learning. Through its strategic plan INFOhio is responsible for and committed to:

Incorporating 21st century literacy and learning skills to encourage all students to reach their full potential in our technologically advanced society

Participate in Ohio's efforts to assure that all students develop 21st century skills.

Continue efforts to provide successful transition from home to school and from grade 12 to college and employment.

Plan and publish the next generation of our website focusing on student use.

Continue efforts to establish a virtual learning community focused on integration of 21st century skills and Web 2.0 tools into instructional strategies that enhance classroom teaching and student learning.

Encouraging increased use of all professionally selected resources to help all PreK-12 students, educators and parents have access to the right resources, in the right format, at the right time to meet their needs

Strengthen strategic partnerships which support common statewide programs and initiatives for educational technology and school libraries.

Expand professional development opportunities through regional delivery of services.

Partner with OELMA to assist the Ohio Department of Education in its standards revision and model curriculum development to increase linkages with INFOhio resources and content.

Explore expanding the Curriculum Resource Catalog to be a single point of contact to resources aligned to standards with access to print and electronic resources including the Digital Video Collection.

Helping transform teaching and learning through efficient delivery of educational resources and information technology

Continue the development and promotion of INFOhio's 21st Century Learning Commons; prepare instructional modules for additional audiences of educators and impact programs.

Enhance product and service delivery with increased end-user input and assistance from the INFOhio Users Council.

Secure funding stability and investigate additional revenue from strategic partnership development and private grant sources.

Continue the exploration of new models for delivery of all products and services resulting in increased efficiency and effectiveness.

Promote the value-added importance of INFOhio's statewide, standardized library automation service for teaching and learning and aggressively target decision makers of schools not using the software.
