Dave Savastone, INFOhio

Regional Education Service Agency (OME-RESA) Instructional Technology
Center, has been selected as the 2006 recipient of the INFOhio Spence White Service
Award. "You only need to meet Dave and within minutes you understand that he
is one of those individuals who loves what he does," said INFOhio Executive Director Theresa M.
Fredericka during the presentation ceremony. "He is always positive – no
matter what the situation – and has a can-do attitude. He is a
real team player, willing to help no matter what the task."

Dave graduated from Weir Senior High School in Weirton, West Virginia, in
1971. He received a B.A. in Spanish and Secondary Education from the
University of Steubenville in 1977 and the M.L.S. in Library/Information
Science from the University of Maryland in 1978.
Following a twenty-year career as a library/media specialist for the Toronto
City Schools (1978-1986) and the Steubenville City Schools (1987-1998), Dave
became the INFOhio Manager for OME-RESA in 1998. Dave's main hobbies are
"reading (of course!) and enjoying my family. I also like to exercise on a
somewhat regular basis."
The 2006 INFOhio Spence White Service Award was presented at the INFOhio
Users Council meeting during the eTech Ohio Educational Technology
Conference, February 12, 2007, in Columbus. Dave will receive a $500 stipend from the INFOhio Governing Advisory Board to attend a professional
development activity approved by INFOhio.

The INFOhio Spence White Service Award recognizes exemplary service
provided to the INFOhio community by ITC personnel. The recipient demonstrates a
dedication to the vision of INFOhio and outstanding support for the delivery of the
INFOhio project.
