Acceptance Remarks

To me, this award is a double honor. It is very special because it is in memory of our dear friend, Spence. I will always remember my first trip to a Technical Roundtable meeting, driving from Warren, wondering what I had gotten myself into. When I walked into the meeting room, Spence was the first person to greet me. He made me feel very welcome, not only on that day, but every day that I saw him.

I am also honored to receive the Spence White Service Award because it is the NEOMIN users who were instrumental in my being nominated. We are so fortunate to work with such a special group of librarians and library clerks.

I would like to thank the Spence White Service Award Committee for selecting me, Terri Fred for her leadership, my users at NEOMIN, my team members Autumn and Marti, NEOMIN's Executive Director John Jaros, and all of you for your support over the years.
