Database Cleanup

My DASite provider says I should use 2002-2003 to clean up my records to help get ready for the new software. Why should I do this now? What should I be doing?
To ensure a smooth transition of the data INFOhio needs all libraries to participate in the data cleanup process.  It will be important for libraries to identify special cataloging practices used to store or make key pieces of information accessible in the MultiLIS database so that important data is not lost during the conversion.  Additionally, libraries should view this as an opportunity to start out fresh by eliminating any records in the database that are no longer useful or correcting erroneous records that might be problematic to the conversion.  Please be sure to consult the Transition Cleanup section of the web site for detailed information and checklists that might be helpful to you.  (Posted: February 10, 2003)
