April 2005 Spotlight: Historic & Mysterious Places

People have long been fascinated with historic and mysterious places throughout the world. Such areas have inspired intrigue and speculation in the minds of writers, scientists, historians, archeologists, and everyday people. Many have wondered, how was Stonehenge built? Does the Bermuda Triangle really exist? Is there really a lost city of Atlantis? Why were the giant sculptures on Easter Island built? The Great Sphinx, the pyramids of Egypt, and the Tower of London have also captured the imaginations of people for generations. Explore these historic and mysterious places in  SIRS Discoverer articles.

Spotlight of the Month topics are selected mainly from Chase's Calendar of Events. Articles are also accessible within the main database and remain in the SIRS Spotlight of the Month newsletter archives for one year.
