INFOhio Web page
changes announced
Several changes to Elecronic Resources
pages take effect at mid-school year. Using comments from educators and students, the
changes are coordinated by INFOhio's
Electronic Resources Task Force and should be in effect soon after January 15, 2004.
Here's a quick list of how the INFOhio Web site has changed.
- Buttons replace the chart on the Grades 4-8 page. A link near
the bottom of the page provides the previous text version.
- Improved buttons for AMICO Library and Literature Online.
- Redesigned buttons on the EBSCOhost
authentication page and a new button for the EBSCO Newspapers database.
- A link to ODE's Technology Academic Content Standards on the text versions of
Resources for Grades 4-8 and 9-12.
- Button mouse-overs that help explain a bit about each resource.
Other Web site notes
FAQs page added to Web site for
ER troubleshooting
INFOhio Technical Support staff have collected the answers to several FAQs related to
INFOhio's Core Collection of Electronic Resources, focusing on common access problems. One
of the answers explains the seven steps to follow when most of the resources work fine,
but one or a few are not responding. Urge your colleagues and students to follow the steps
as soon as problems arise.
Spotlight #2
focuses on Science Resources
Sheila Benedum, Spotlight
Coordinator for INFOhio's Electronic Resources, reviews elements of the Core Collection
that support the instruction of Science in the K-12 curriculum in the second spotlight for
the 2003-2004 school. An archive of spotlights is maintained on the INFOhio Web site's Educator
section.
Core
Collection product updates linked from new page
Vendors supplying INFOhio's Core
Collection of Electronic Resources make changes to their products from time to time.
Since these revisions can happen throughout the year, INFOhio is linking the announcements
on a new Web page. The newest links to the updates:
Now, you don't have
to rely on a missed e-mail to keep up with Core Collection changes. Visit the Product
Updates page regularly to stay informed! New Help Resources will continue to
be added to each product's INFO page, wherever you see the blue button. For example, four
entries were added recently to Help
Resources for Oxford Reference Online. |
