OH! Teach grows to support Ohio educators

OH!Teach.OH! Teach is a collaborative project of OPLIN (Ohio Public Library Information Network) and INFOhio, providing educators with links to support K-12 instruction. Need some new lesson plan ideas? How about connections to professional organizations or e-zines related to education? Why not try some of the innovative teaching techniques collected? What about exploring new subject sites to enhance classroom curriculum? All this and more is available on OH! Teach.

Regular updates to OH! Teach are coordinated by Carloyn S. Brodie, Professor, Kent State University School of Library and Information Science. Send suggestions for additional OH! Teach sites to Dr. Brodie.

Peer review process ready for ER support material submissions

Are you ready to be published? INFOhio's Instructional Development Task Force encourages you to submit support materials for using INFOhio's Core Collection of Electronic Resources for consideration by our new peer review process. INFOhio Special Projects Consultant Ann E. Tepe is coordinating the submissions. Those materials selected will be published on the INFOhio Web site, either on the Help Resources page for a specific product or as part of our Lesson Plan Resources page.

Examples of acceptable materials include lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations, Page Composer Web pages, tutorials, training materials, resource guide, FAQ documents, and tips and tricks lists. Detailed information about the process and a link for the online submission form that begins the peer review process are available.

"INFOhio encourages all Ohio educators who use our Core Collection resources to submit their best materials for consideration," said Theresa M. Fredericka, INFOhio Executive Director. "Our resources can be used by all grade levels and all subject areas, so we want to highlight materials that support Ohio's complete K-12 curriculum, with special emphasis on materials that align to Ohio's Academic Content Standards."

To see the first few submissions that have completed the peer review process, visit our Lesson Plan Resources page.

InfoLit E-List open to new subscribers

Information Literacy Skills 2003 workshop participants were encouraged to subscribe to an E-List (listserv) devoted to sharing ideas and best practices related to the use of information literacy in standards-based classrooms. Now, anyone interested is welcome to participate. Join the list from the INFOhio Web site. At the Select a list menu, be sure to select infohio-info-lit-l.

Those who wish to participate in INFOhio's other two E-Lists may sign up at the same Join the list link. INFOhio's main E-list (infohio-l) is for anyone interested in participating in our "virtual" community. The INFOhio E-List provides news and general information about all of INFOhio's five components and allows subscribers to ask questions and share ideas,  The Media Booking List (infohio-booking-l) targets staffers at agencies with special collections and district media collections using Medianet, INFOhio's media booking software. No fees are required to participate in any INFOhio E-List.
