The RECORD is published by INFOhio, the Information Network for Ohio Schools, Theresa M. Fredericka, Executive Director. Making copies of this newsletter, in whole or in part, is encouraged. Please acknowledge or cite INFOhio.

Welcome to our new RECORD!

The entire INFOhio family hopes you enjoy this issue of the INFOhio RECORD, published for the first time as a Web-based document. While budget restrictions impacted our decision to eliminate the printed version, we think a Web-only version has several advantages:

  • We can link to additional content, either on the INFOhio Web site or elsewhere. Now, easy-to-use hyperlinks avoid typing long URLs.
  • We can publish more than the two issues possible the last couple years.
  • Back issues are available for easy Web reference.
  • Distribution costs are eliminated. No more shipping and postage required.
  • We save paper and printing costs, allowing more INFOhio funds to directly benefit Ohio's students and teachers.

A couple notes to help your use of the Web-only version:

  • The Table of Contents box remains on each page, allowing for easy reading of articles in the order you prefer.
  • Links to INFOhio and other Web pages open new windows. Just close those pages to return to the RECORD.

As always, we value your opinions. After you have taken the time to peruse this issue, please let us know what you think about the new format. Send your feedback to central@infohio.org.

Enjoy some well-deserved time this summer to relax, read and reflect. As you can tell from this RECORD, we have an exciting year ahead!

INFOhio Award Recipients Announced

Jane Puleo, library media specialist at Garfield Heights High School, is the recipient of the 2003 INFOhio Hugh Durbin Leadership Award. Terri Shutt is the recipient of the 2003 INFOhio Spence White Service Award. Shutt is INFOhio State Technical Support Team Leader and is based at the NOACSC DASite in Lima. The White Award recognizes exemplary service provided to the INFOhio community by DASite personnel. The is the first year the White Award has been granted.

"It gives me great pleasure to announce the recipients of INFOhio's two awards," said John Myles, INFOhio Governing Advisory Board member and co-chair of the Board's Awards Committee. "Both Hugh Durbin and Spence White were leaders in their respective fields and helped INFOhio begin and continue to serve Ohio's students and teachers. Jane and Terri follow in their footsteps."
