SchoolRooms^® Basic Announced for Ohio
After several months of dedicated effort by more than 100 Ohio educators, SchoolRooms Basic is ready to explore! A button for this Internet portal has been added to the INFOhio home page and is available to all Ohio's PreK-12 community with our Core Collection username and password. Different from a broad-based Internet search that may return thousands of results, SRB delivers high quality Web sites. More than 22,000 sites have been selected by Ohio educators to support Academic Content Standards. In addition, the SRB portal leads to more than 3 million related sites. INFOhio is using the remainder of the 2007-2008 school year to evaluate SchoolRooms Basic, along with INFOsearch and New CAT. Thank you for your help as we add products and services to INFOhio!

New search interface, new titles added to Digital Video Collection
As Ohio's Area Media Centers (AMCs) continue to add new titles to the Digital Video Collection (DVC), INFOhio staff continues to improve access to this valuable service to Ohio's PreK-12 educators, students and parents. Recently added: an Easy Search function to perform quick keyword queries. Easy Search automatically limits searches to the DVC. Enter your search term, click on Show matching videos, and a list of available videos will display. Use New Search to change your search term. As always, programs can be streamed, downloaded or ordered as CD media. Home access is provided with the same username and password required for INFOhio’s Core Collection of Electronic Resources.

Core Collection Username/Password
The current username and password for INFOhio’s Core Collection of Electronic Resources has been published on a few district Web pages that are available to the general public. Since this violates INFOhio's agreements with our database vendor partners, INFOhio Technical Services has recently requested the elimination of such public access. Read more...

And speaking of usernames and passwords, the 2008-2009 Core Collection version will be changing on July 1, 2008. INFOhio plans to communicate the new UN/PW through our library staff distribution lists maintained by ITC providers. If you do not receive the new UN/PW by mid-February, contact the provider who supports your district or central@infohio.org.
