INFOhio's new OPAC:
Looking for a home!
INFOhio is using the 2007-2008 school year to continuing development of
a new online public access catalog (OPAC) for older users. Code-named
New CAT, the OPAC is for all INFOhio automated
schools. New CAT is hunting for library materials in
almost all Ohio
Information Technology Centers (ITCs) and can be used instead of the
current CAT interface; CAT Jr. is not affected.INFOhio hopes to have
broad-based use of New CAT by students, parents and
educators. A feedback site is monitored for comments and suggestions for
improvements. After hearing from the INFOhio community, New CAT
is tentatively scheduled to replace the current CAT for the 2008-2009 school year.
Check out New CAT and let us know what you think!

New titles added to Digital Video Collection
Several
new titles have recently been added to the
Ohio Area Instructional
Media Centers' (OAIMC)
Digital Video Collection (DVC), making this service
even more valuable for Ohio's PreK-12 educators, students and parents.
Programs can be streamed, downloaded or ordered as CD media. Home access
is provided with the same username and password required for
INFOhio’s Core Collection of Electronic Resources.
| Among the new titles for 2007-2008 are
programs from three series: |
 |
Financial Fitness for Young Adults |
 |
Our Ohio: Exploring Our Heritage
(additional titles from the
Ohio Farm Bureau
Federation) |
 |
The Working World for Young Adults |

Fall Update PowerPoint posted to Web site
Using
INFOhio to Impact Student Learning,
INFOhio's in-service overview for 2007-2008, has been added to
the
Slide
Library section of the
INFOhio Toolkit.
This 60-slide PowerPoint presentation works as a tutorial for
library staff to keep current. Use the slides' Notes to find
talking points and details that supplement the slides. Many slides have
hotspots that make live demonstrations convenient. Changes are listed in
the notes to Slide 1. Also, check the
Toolkit's
What's New for the 2007-2008 School Year to learn about changes
