INFOsearch test
highlights Core Collection for 2007-08

INFOhio's goal of a
federated search for our Core Collection of Electronic Resources is a
big step closer! INFOsearch provides researchers a convenient way to
search multiple resources at the same time. The new search portal is
available for Grades K-5, 6-9 and 9-12, where INFOhio has pre-selected
resources in several categories, such as encyclopedias,
newspapers/magazines and teacher articles. The Core
Collection search allows the most extensive searches. Encourage your
students and colleagues to use INFOsearch during this evaluation year,
and ask them to respond to the brief survey that pops up at the
conclusion of their session.

Library Automation
Update
SmartPort ready to capture OCLC WorldCat
bibs
More
than 2,000 Ohio schools automated with INFOhio now have easy access to OCLC WorldCat as a
source for their bibliographic records. More than 85 million records
from all types of libraries worldwide are available through the
SmartPort wizard in WorkFlows®.
A SmartPort connection to
WorldCat has been established through each
Information Technology
Center (ITC), so WorkFlows users need no separate username or
password to access WorldCat.
