OAIMC Digital Video Collection server updated, titles added
Use a link in the table below to locate a specific video.The INFOhio server hosting the Ohio Area Instructional Media Centers' (OAIMC) Digital Video Collection (DVC) has seen major improvements, making the DVC more accessible than ever. The DVC contains more than 200 videos, with more than 700 instructional modules, and includes programs for almost all subjects and grade levels. The entire collection is available without charge to Ohio’s K-12 community. Home access is provided with the same username and password required for INFOhio’s Core Collection of Electronic Resources.

Here's what's new with the DVC...

Titles List now provides running time and file size for each instructional module.

AMC Digital Title List is newly-generated each time URL is visited, so a fresh copy is easily produced. [PDF 20+ pgs]

Two New Titles lists are available, one annotated with descriptions [PDF 2 pgs] and one a subject list [PDF 2 pgs]. Among the new programs are those from two BioMedia Associates series, Inside the Living Cell and Visualizing Cell Processes. Other titles include Copyright Law: Internet and Multimedia Education for Schools from Visual Communication and Put the Brakes on Bullying from Landmark.

Customer comments improve Library Automation project
INFOhio's efforts to automate Ohio's K-12 school library media centers with SirsiDynix integrated library software (ILS) has made much progress in the last few months, and many of the improvements are due to INFOhio customers' suggestions. Here's where to get updates:

Cataloging templates and directions for equipment and locally produced materials

Patch Cluster 5 installation under way. Client Installation Specifications for Tech Coordinators now available.

INFOhio-developed reports for SirsiDynix WorkFlows®

Equipment specifications for SirsiDynix WorkFlows have been updated to include new information related to Microsoft's Vista operating system.

OCLC CatExpress, a service INFOhio has provided for many of its automated schools, is undergoing some improvements in how it is delivered to Ohio K-12 customers. Watch for details soon!

Preview 2007's online evaluation is open through April 16. Be sure to remind your colleagues and students that their comments are welcome. Survey responses help determine if Preview 2008 will occur. While the online preview has concluded for Preview 2007, Price List 2007 will remain in effect for the 2007-2008 school year. INFOhio appreciates the 30 vendors who previewed 132 products in Preview 2007; please consider purchasing their products!

Invitations have been e-mailed to Ohio School Library Leaders for the first Ohio Library Partnership Summit on Monday, May 21, 2007, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Fawcett Center in Columbus. The Summit will bring together the leaders of Ohio's library communities to look at the current state of statewide projects and initiatives from a multi-type library perspective and talk about the future of these programs and services. Most importantly, directors of Ohio public libraries, directors and deans of academic libraries and school superintendents will determine how to promote and fund meaningful collaboration.
