Welcome and Introductions (Gayle Geitgey)
- All Representatives in attendance introduced themselves. Departing
members and new members were recognized. |

Cathy Leininger was selected Secretary to the
Users Council for a one-year term. |
|
Nominations for Chair Elect - This is a
two-year term and should be one of our new council members. The
council is currently accepting nominations and will vote on the
Chair Elect at the October meeting. |

Preparing 21st Century Ohio Learners
for Success: The Role of Information Literacy and Libraries -
The OhioLINK / INFOhio task force has worked on a white paper
entitled Learning in the 21st Century. The task force focus
is on 12-13 grade learners. This task force is hoping to connect
with Gov Strickland’s educational reform movements. As school
librarians, we want to be part of the state school reform efforts
with this push for 21st Century Information Skills. |

Blackboard™
refresher (Gayle Geitgey) - BlackBoard is hosted at SCOCA and
was demonstrated for new council members. A discussion was held to
determine the most valuable usage of Blackboard and a possible
listserv. |
