INFOhio announces the release of a new video

Dear Colleagues,

INFOhio, the preK-12 information network for Ohio schools, has created a new video, 21st Century Tools and Electronic Resources for Students, Teachers and Parents. Produced in cooperation with the Montgomery County Educational Service Center and with assistance from Centerville City Schools, this video introduces 21^st century literacies in relationship to the INFOhio Core Collection of Electronic Resources.

The 27-minute production discusses many of the online resources INFOhio provides to Ohio students and teachers, focusing on the special features that can infuse student learning with 21st century information literacy skills. The Flash presentation is segmented into nine chapters, most about two to three minutes in length, and is easily streamed or downloaded for classroom use. The video is located on the INFOhio Web site at /Educator/21stcenturyvideo.html.

Follow a school librarian as she takes the learner through the unique 21st century tools that are incorporated into various INFOhio resources. The viewer will:

	Learn the value of setting an RSS Alert in EBSCOhost
	Learn to enhance communication, collaboration and creativity using the tools available in World Book Web
	Learn to use Boolean searching, e-mail alerts as well as RSS feeds from Biography Reference Bank
	Discover how to find high quality videos, experiments, animations and activities from Science Online
	Learn to find high-quality, digital images of works of art from museums around the world from The ART Collection
	Learn to use INFOhio's Research Project Calculator to organize a research task, monitor learning and evaluate progress in student research assignments
	Understand how to maximize the testing resources of LearningExpress Library to prepare for college and the world of work
	Be invited to read Preparing 21st Century Ohio Learners for Success: The Role of Information Literacy and Libraries and learn more about INFOhio’s Go Further! initiative for students in grades 7-12
