Dear Colleagues,

INFOhio’s evaluation of the full SchoolRooms product is continuing with a new function recently added to the product. Library catalogs for INFOhio automated schools can now be searched through SchoolRooms. With this added capability, INFOhio’s version of SchoolRooms now includes all available features for the product. There is no charge to use SchoolRooms through June 30, 2009, during this evaluation year.

All Ohio educators, students and parents are welcome to use SchoolRooms, conveniently located from the INFOhio home page and elsewhere on our Core Collection pages. Select from a list of districts automated through INFOhio and display district library holdings while simultaneously searching many of the Core Collection resources, the OAIMC Digital Video Collection and the Web sites especially selected for SchoolRooms.

For those not automated by INFOhio, users can select any district to experience this exciting discovery portal.

To help evaluate SchoolRooms and to make suggestions, please use the Help Evaluate area on the SchoolRooms home page. Also, use this area to report broken links and suggest added Web sites to the development team.

INFOhio’s goal is to continue to provide SchoolRooms as part of our Core Collection during next school year and beyond. If INFOhio’s funding does not permit this, we will provide costs for those that decide to subscribe to SchoolRooms with local budgets.

My thanks to all those involved in the development and implementation of SchoolRooms. It is an exciting way to deliver content to support the information needs of Ohio’s students and educators, one that will be available for several more months. My hope is that you encourage wide use of SchoolRooms to thoroughly experience this new way to explore, discover and learn.
