Ohio Landsat 7 Images and Sanborn Insurance Maps, two current
Core Collection products
provided by OhioLINK
and OPLIN, will be
included on INFOhio’s
Other Resources
page
beginning July 1, 2008.
Most of INFOhio’s Core Collection is purchased in cooperation with two
partner library
networks, OhioLINK
and OPLIN, using
$1,467,414 Institute of
Museum and Library Services-
Library Services Technology Act funds administered by the
State Library of Ohio.
Joining efforts
as
Libraries Connect Ohio, these agencies' representatives considered the
current resource
marketplace and funds available, while keeping the needs of all our patrons
paramount.
More
information about the process and the new resources is available.
You can be confident that INFOhio staff and volunteers will be updating our
toolkits for 2008-
2009, along with our Help Resources pages for each Core Collection
component. Also,
INFOhio will work during this transition year with Encyclopaedia
Britannica, American National
Biography and AccessScience to secure discounted pricing to offer
all our schools. We certainly
have appreciated partnering with the three companies these past many years.
Watch for more
pricing information in the next INFOhio RECORD.
While changes to the Core Collection can be disconcerting to some in our
community, I am
confident that the 2008-2009 collection is the best we have ever provided to
PreK-12 students,
educators and parents!
Sincerely,
Theresa M. Fredericka
